The 1934 Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship

Scholarship Info

We plan to give between 1 to 5 scholarships a year depending on our fundraising and the dollar amount will appear on the APPLY page yearly before we open the application submission window. We will also award a “runner-up” to each scholarship in case the main winner is not able to march that summer.

The applicant must have previously marched and will be given precedent and favor until such time as there are no more students previously associated with our organization marching in the activity.

It is our goal to be able to help selected member march in other corps or even indoor guard or percussion to continue our heritage as far into the future as possible. We will be raising monies to support these students until there are no longer any members marching. After that, a young person from any corps will be eligible.

STEP 1

They must be in good standing with the drum corps regarding past tuition/tour fees.

STEP 2

They must be considered a “good member” and provide references.

STEP 3

Scholarship requests will start on January 1 of each year, the window will close on Feb 1, then applicants will be researched and voted upon by the 1934 Foundation Board of Directors scholarship committee and those funds will be paid directly to the corps.

STEP 4

Awardees will be announced no later than May 1.

STEP 5

If for any reason the member does not march that summer, the 1934 Foundation will move their scholarship to the runner-up.
