Who We Are

Who We Are

About The 1934 Foundation

We are a group of alumni, staff, and friends that have formed an independent 501c3 organization to help future marching members afford their tuition/dues to any drum corps.

We feel the need to financially help young adults participate in a young person’s activity that develops the lifelong skills that we see we have gained through the marching arts.

Our independence as an organization is important to us.

Teamwork
Dedication
Pushing and expanding one’s limits to reach greater goals
Sportsmanship
Working through Adversity

And many other skills that prepare people who participate in the marching arts for their adult lives and give them an advantage to compete in the job market and their chosen profession.
Our board will have two levels of participation.

  1. An executive board of 6 members. Their responsibilities will be the big picture items, voting when needed, and communicating with advisory board members and the public.
  2. Advisory Board Members – We will grow this to participation by decade you marched or (if not a former marching member) the year you think you best associate with. Meetings will be quarterly around our donation events.

Board members will not be reimbursed from our general fund for any personal expenses
